About Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center
The Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center was established in 1987. It was founded through the dedication and vision of Betty Moss Gibbs. The name, "Kilgore" is in honor and memory of Betty's father, Ben Kilgore.
The main office is at 918 Ormsby Lane in Lyndon. In November 2009 Kilgore moved from our longtime home on Brownsboro Road, across from the Second Presbyterian Church, one of our primary supporting congregations. Additionally, there is a satellite office housed at St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, our other primary supporting congregation.
The Mission of the Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center is to express the love and grace of God through the ministry of pastoral counseling, helping persons in the Louisville Metro area. Kilgore carries out this Mission through a multidisciplinary approach to counseling and various educational services. The work of Kilgore is grounded in the conviction that dimensions of faith are integrated with other functions of mind, body, and spirit. Therefore, counseling is conducted in a Christian atmosphere which respects other religions and responds appropriately to faith issues which may arise.
The Center provides services to all members of our community, regardless of ability to pay and depends upon the generosity of its supporters. If you would like to become a Kilgore Samaritan, please access our donation page. Your generosity would help sustain our Samaritan Fund for the uninsured and the underinsured who we serve. |
