Kilgore Samaritan Counseling Center? 

Your donations go toward subsidizing fees for families and individuals in crisis who could not otherwise afford quality therapy and care. Please consider ways that past giving by generous persons such as yourself have helped those in need:

·       $100 provided a month's worth of supportive treatment and guidance for a confused and terrified young mother who had no insurance and was trying to escape a violent and abusive marriage.

·       $250 provided enough case management and therapeutic care for an elderly man - jobless, without insurance, learning disabled, injured and medically compromised - to return from the brink of desperation and suicide.

·       $500 provided ongoing care to both a single grandmother, with a minimum wage job and no health benefits, and to her preschool granddaughter, who she had rescued from a drug-infested, violent, parental home.

The demand for our scholarships is trending ever upward and continues unabated, especially in these harsh economic times, where it is not uncommon to have families coming to us where parents have lost their jobs and their health insurance. Since 2007, we have authorized over 2100 counseling hours and over $84,000 to the care of such families. We could not sustain our mission at this level without our community’s generosity and belief in our mission.
